Fighters Megamix (SAT)

Published 1997
Topics

Fighters Megamix brought two together two separate worlds of 3D polygonal combat, Virtua Fighter (with it's emphasis on precise, realistic combat) and Fighter Vipers (with it's emphasis of outlandish, cartoon violence, as well as 80's American inspired characters), into one arena. The results were actually quite good, and seeing how one set of characters would react to the other's rules made for some compelling gameplay.

It was also a neat package for any fan of AM2, who not only created both fighting series, but many of Sega's arcade hits. Featured as hidden combatants are characters from Virtua Cop (a light gun game), Sonic the Fighters (another fighting game, this one starring characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe), and even the stock car from Daytona USA (Sega's beloved racing title).
